5 Things To Make You Happy...

Holidays seem like a distant memory, with the doldrums setting in? Or are you feeling a bit down or stressed? Here are 5 quick ideas you can try right now to make you feel happier, lift your mood and enjoy the present!

Flower Power

If you want add joy into your day, do it with flowers. Flowers bring a smile to a face, engage our senses, freshly scent a space, and obviously lift our mood. There is no greater time than the present to give flowers (to a dear friend or yourself!) and fill your house with natural, spectacular colour. 

Let’s Get Physical

Exercise is said to release the body’s happy hormones. So, try to make time to walk the dog or head off to the gym. Fresh air, a little sunshine and movement will help release stress and put a smile on your face.

Spending time with those people who are dear to you will boost those happy hormones too. Share a meal, have a chat or just doing something nice for someone will bring you joy and lift your spirits. It’s the time spent with people you love that leaves you with a smile.

Getting a good night’s sleep will help you feel energised when you wake up in the morning and help you cope with your day. Leave your laptop or the phone in another room. Drink some chamomile tea before bed, then relax and sleep. Voila…a happy start to a new day.

If you are not Sunday’s child that is born “bonny and blithe and good and happy”, then you need to practice seeing the glass as half-full. Reshape your attitude and release those negatives thoughts.
Putting a smile on your face and being happy takes some effort. Enjoy the present and be grateful for all the little sweet things in your life.  Choose to live more joyously.
